AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPO Newsroom
Representatives from the fields of development, design and production discussed the future of car body manufacture at the 4th AEE – AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPO and the AEE CONGRESS. Questions of new lightweight designs, flexible production methods and digital development models dominated the exchanges at the stands and in the lecture forums. The presence of 84 exhibitors gave 919 trade visitors, mainly automobile suppliers, manufacturers and service firms, the opportunity to learn about their latest developments.
At the accompanying AEE CONGRESS, more than 300 delegates gained an insight into the technical advances being made at all stages in the painted car body process chain, from design through to final assembly, thanks to a total of 69 lectures given by more than 80 international speakers. The agenda was structured around the themes of metal forming, joining techniques, car body materials, painting and surface technologies, and production and QA strategies.
“During the strategic planning for AEE 2019, we set ourselves the goal of achieving substantial growth in all relevant indicators, but the difficult market environment and the current economic situation meant this target was not reached,” comment Alexander Mattausch, Director AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING EXPO at NürnbergMesse, and Maice Middelkampf, Head of Events at Vincentz Network. “Positive discussions with exhibitors and participants, and the signals from the OEM and Supplier Advisory Board, however, give us encouragement to pursue our strategy in a revised form.”
Visitors to AEE 2019, engineers, decision-makers and strategists in R&D, came from 26 countries, mainly within Europe, but also from Japan, South Korea and China, as well as the US, Brazil and India.
